To celebrate Sladers Yard’s 20th Anniversary, Philip Sutton RA is showing Studio in Pembrokeshire, a powerful vibrant painting of his studio in beautiful Manorbier, where he lived for some 24 years before he and his wife moved to Bridport. First shown at Sladers Yard in 2014, his first solo show here, when it was the featured picture for the show, this is a brilliant example of Philip Sutton’s way of finding the wonder in the world around him. A very personal still life, a flower painting and a landscape, this picture encompasses much of the artist’s thinking and way of being.
